For maximum action, make sure that the tail is aligned on the hinge pin centered within the back opening of the head.
To add some noise to the action, stick a cutoff ball-headed clothespin into the tip of the diverter flap on the tail which beat on the interior walls of the head to create a rattling sound.
Vary the retrieve with intermittent pauses. Fish will often strike on the pause.
In open water, orient the double-hook with the hooks facing down for maximum hookset. I vegetation or other heavy cover reverse the double hook so the hooks are facing up to minimize hang-ups and debri collection. |
